Founded With a Purpose
Buddhist International School was founded in 2007 by Adv. P. R. Dhale with a clear purpose — to create an educational environment where modern learning and Buddhist values could grow together.
His vision was that education should do more than prepare children for examinations. It should develop knowledge, discipline, confidence, rational thinking, compassion and responsibility towards society.
BIS was therefore created as a place where children could receive modern education while remaining connected to the teachings of the Buddha, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and other great social reformers.

Children are influenced by the people, ideas and values they encounter from an early age.
BIS was established with the belief that students deserve an education that develops knowledge along with values, confidence along with discipline, and ambition along with social responsibility.
We want our students to know the difference between blind belief and thoughtful understanding, to ask questions, develop a scientific attitude and live with compassion and dignity.
Education should help children learn how to think, not simply what to remember.

OUR JOURNEY
From a Vision in 2007 to the Next Chapter.
The story of Buddhist International School has been shaped by a continuing commitment to education, Dhamma, equality and community development. From the early vision of building Buddhist educational institutions to the growth of BIS Pimple Gurav and the development of a new campus, every chapter reflects the efforts of students, teachers, families and people who believed in the purpose of the school.
2007 — 2027
The wider Buddhist International School vision began with the aim of creating educational environments where modern learning and Buddhist values could grow together.
An important institutional milestone laid the foundation for the development of BIS Pimple Gurav as a Buddhist minority educational institution.
Buddhist International School, Pimple Gurav began developing an educational environment where academic learning, Dhamma, values and student development could grow together.
As the school grew, academic learning was complemented by assemblies, Dhamma programmes, cultural activities and opportunities for students to participate and express themselves.
